The Swapo Party Youth League has called on the Communication Regulation Authority of Namibia to halt the deactivation process and extend the SIM card registration to another year.

The SPYL has challenged CRAN and telecommunication agencies on this issue, despite the firm stance against such extensions by the Minister of Information, Communication, and Technology.

Recently, the youth league submitted a formal letter to the ICT Minister, Dr. Peya Mushelenga, seeking an extension.

The Youth League raised concern over the imminent deactivation of unregistered SIM cards by December 31, which is two weeks away.
