The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has reaffirmed its partnership with Trustco in delivering exceptional entertainment to its viewers by bringing back the Trustco Winna Mariba show.
The history of Trustco's Winna Mariba spans nearly two decades, commencing in 2003 when Trustco Group embarked on an innovative journey by introducing SMS competitions.
The Director General of the national broadcaster, Stanley Similo, welcomed the reintroduction of the show, saying it will contribute immensely to the production and broadcast of local content.
"It's a great thing for us; it's local content, but it's about entertaining, and people will learn, but it will also be full of fun because people will be tested about things that you and I will think are normal, but you will also laugh a lot."
The revamped Winna Mariba brand will reflect the show's digital evolution, vibrant spirit, and potential to make a significant impact on the lives of Namibians.
"It does create an element of percentage increase, and at the same time, it also challenges us to show case in terms of technological advancement and technical understanding. The relationship between us and Trustco is one that has been there for many years, so we are happy to be back working together on this project," said Similo.
The new season is expected to kick off at the beginning of March, with 13 episodes that will run for three and a half months on nbc.
Substantial prize money of up to a quarter of a million Namibia dollars is up for grabs for fortunate participants.
The 13th episode will introduce celebrity contestants who will vie for winnings dedicated to registered NGOs or charities of their choice.
Paid-up nbc TV licence holders or those who are patrons and affiliates of Trustco and its investment entities will stand a chance to double their final winnings.
