A Namibian film that aims to tell the story of street children will premiere this Thursday at the Sterkinekor cinema at Grove Mall.

"Lukas," a film based on real-life stories of street kids in Windhoek, aims to create awareness and start a conversation about lasting solutions for children who live on the streets.

The film, by Ombetja Yehinga Organisation, conducted interviews with the street kids and developed a script based on their stories.

The hour-and-four-minute film involves about fifty actors depicting the real lives of those living on the streets.

Oscar Shilongo, an actor and assistant director in the film, narrated his experience and thoughts on the life-changing film.

The tickets for the film can be obtained at Webtickets or Pick and Pay outlets for N$100.

The film will start airing at 7 p.m.

However, those who will miss the launch of the film have a chance to watch it in March in cinemas for a week
