Faced with an alarming shortage of blood, the Blood Transfusion Service of Namibia joined forces with Shincheonji Church of Jesus volunteers to carry out a blood drive to boost blood stocks and save lives.

The collaboration is aimed at inspiring communities to actively engage in the act of saving lives through blood donations.

NamBTS has made numerous appeals to the public to come forward to donate blood to save lives.

Through the blood drive initiative, the two organisations have been encouraging the community to embrace a culture of giving back through blood donation drives.

Speaking at the event, Khomas Governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua urged people to donate, noting that a single donation can save lives.

She commended the two entities for raising awareness about blood donation.

NamBTS wanted to collect a minimum of 50 blood donations at the event, a goal that was exceeded as they managed to collect more than 62 blood donations.

The public is urged to continue donating blood to save lives.
