The late Dr. Hage Geingob was also known for his dedication to fostering small business enterprises, and some entrepreneurs say he left behind a legacy of economic empowerment and community development among the youth of Namibia.

The nbc News team spoke to some entrepreneurs who had the privilege of working with him.

Pinehas Shikulo is the owner of Gweri Vintage Socks. He was among a group of entrepreneurs who had the privilege of showcasing their products to the president.

Shikulo says the late president created opportunities for young people to access markets, and through such interaction, he was able to grow his business with confidence.

In his tribute to the late Dr. Hage Geingob, Shikulo urged fellow mourners to not only focus on the sorrow but also to celebrate his legacy, as he was well known as a joyful and happy person.

Our news team also visited Shiwomeho Kalla. A baker for the past six years, she was the president's baker for the past five years.

Kalla was left devastated by the death of Dr. Geingob.

They also shared their message of condolence, remembering Geingob as a father.
