There is a plan to posthumously publish prominent freedom fighter and writer Dr. Gerhard Tötemeyers' final and unfinished book.

The youngest daughter of the late professor says the family wishes for the book to be published, but it must first be established what the book is.

Professor Tötemeyer, who was cremated last week, was one of Namibia's influential authors.

In total, he has written 25 books on politics, history, regional government, and other matters.

Before his death at Swakopmund on January 30, the scholar was still busy writing a book about the conduct of churches in Namibia after independence.

One of the professors' friends, a pastor at the ELCIN church in Swakopmund, noted that Tötemeyer had deep faith in his religion, even in his last days, when he was told an operation was not possible.

At a memorial service, Uwe Schutte revealed that the academic believed the church should play a role in overcoming inequalities.

Tötemeyer-du Plessis informed nbc News that publishing the unfished book is a long term project for the family.

She says, after the family investigates the progress, they have options either to self-publish or fund a publisher.
