Namibia's High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria, held a memorial service in honour of the late President Hage Geingob.

The High Commissioner of Namibia to Nigeria, Humphrey Geiseb, praised the late president's qualities, saying a lot of lessons can be drawn from him as a leader.

"He will be missed not only in Namibia but also by the people of Nigeria, by the people of Africa, and by the people of the world. He was indeed someone who had been labouring for Namibia, and in a way, this labour gave to his people. He fought for independence and drafted our constitution, and he made sure we benefited from his labour."
