Gobabis Primary School is mobilising funds to construct an assembly hall. Currently, assemblies are conducted in the open.

A teacher at Gobabis Primary School, Zelda Katjingisiua, says most of the learners are from the marginalised community and find it difficult to make any monetary contribution to the school.

The school is conducting fundraising activities to improve its infrastructure and has so far collected N$70,000, while N$300,000 is needed.

The school principal, Regina Diergaardt, commended those who assisted the school through school uniforms and food parcels to aid marginalised learners.

The school still has limited resources to meet the needs of the 1,223 learners.

The principal has also called upon parents and the local business community to assist with school development, as education requires a multilateral approach.
