President Nangolo Mbumba will commission the Boundaries Delimitation and Demarcation Commissioners, at State House tomorrow.

Press Secretary, Alfredo Hengari says President Mbumba appointed the Commissioners, in line with the provisions of the Constitution.

This will be the fifth Delimitation Commission.

Dr. Hengari says the Commission is expected to conduct an assessment of the current boundaries of the regions and constituencies.

This is do be done with a view to determine and recommend whether changes to the boundaries of any region or constituency or local authorities are required in terms of Article 104 (1) of the Constitution read with Section 5(1) of the Regional Councils Act.

He says President Mbumba is expected to emphasize the important role the Commission will play in strengthening development planning  and effective governance, during the handing over of the appointment letters.

The Commissioners will serve for period of three-months.
