A range of promotions have been announced by the Namibian Police.

Police Inspector General Joseph Shikongo made the announcement in Windhoek on Wednesday, elevating several senior officers to higher ranks and assigning them to key positions. 

These promotions come with added responsibilities and are aimed at ensuring quality policing services for the people of Namibia.

One of the notable promotions is that of Deputy Commissioner Petrus Swartz, who has been promoted to the rank of Commissioner and appointed as the head of the Traffic Law Enforcement Directorate. 

Chief Inspector Auster Linanga has also been promoted, rising to the rank of Deputy Commissioner and being appointed as the commander of the Simon Mutumba Mutumba Police Training Centre in the Zambezi Region. 

Another officer, Chief Inspector Rehabeam Hengari, is promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner and appointed as the Head of the Ceremonial and Recreation Division within the Training and Development Directorate. 

Chief Inspector Ester Nghihalwa assumes the rank of Deputy Commissioner and is appointed as the Head of the Protocols Division.

Inspector Erickson Moshanah has also been promoted to the rank of Chief Inspector and appointed as the Head of the Police Conduct and Investigation Subdivision in the Zambezi region. 

In announcing these promotions, Inspector General Shikongo emphasised the importance of professionalism, accountability, courtesy, integrity, and excellence among the promoted officers.
