The Namibian Futsal team, dubbed 'Brave 5', has embarked on their journey to Morocco for their inaugural appearance in the African Cup of Nations. Drawn in Group B alongside three-time champions Egypt, 2008 titleholders Libya, and debutants Mauritania, the team faces a challenging yet promising path ahead.

Departing from the Chief Hosea Kutako International Airport, the Namibian team exudes confidence and determination, lifted by what Assistant Coach Donald Modise describes as meticulous preparations.

The final 14-man squad has dedicated themselves to difficult training sessions at the Windhoek Showgrounds, with a rigorous regimen of two sessions per day.

As the 'Brave 5' embark on this monumental journey, they are poised to script history in their debut appearance.

Their ultimate goal extends beyond the African Cup of Nations, aiming to secure qualification for the World Cup in September.

With passion, dedication, and a fearless spirit, Namibia's Futsal team stands ready to make their mark on the international stage.
Their campaign kicks off with a crucial encounter against fellow newcomers Mauritania, marking a pivotal opportunity for both sides to secure vital points for advancement to the next round.

Following this debut match, Namibia will confront Egypt on April 14th, followed by a clash with Libya on April 16th.

Despite the formidable reputation of Egypt and Libya as former champions boasting a collective ten appearances in the tournament, the Namibian team remains undaunted.

If Namibia secures a victory against Mauritania, it will set the stage for them to contend with either Egypt or Libya, holding hopes of clinching a spot in the semi-finals. With only the top two teams from each group progressing to the next stage of the competition, every win is crucial for Namibia's advancement.
