The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) has discouraged its members from individual public campaigns for leadership positions in the party.

"In accordance with the party constitutional provision with specific reference to Article 19, nominations and endorsements for positions will be received from the floor during the congress session; however, the congress organising committee and the SG office will compile a preliminary list of aspirants to avail data for vetting screening. As a strategic decision to avert disunity among party members, slate politics is completely obliterated; hence, no aspirant leaders will be allowed to organise individual or solo formal public campaigns; however, any aspirant can campaign freely on a small scale internally," cautioned party Secretary General, Joseph Kauandenge. 

The party has rescheduled its fourth National Elective Congress to run from July 12 to 14 to allow the party sufficient time to complete the restructuring process of the branches.

Kauandenge, who was speaking at a media briefing on resolutions from the party's fourth National Council Meeting in Windhoek, has also denied claims that the party's finances are in shambles. 

He says the information circulating on social media that the party has not compiled audited financial reports for the past five years is untrue. 

Kauandenge explained that since the leadership took office, they presented audited financial reports both in the National Assembly and to the Electoral Commission of Namibia for four consecutive years. 

The party has also recently submitted its 2023–2024 financial reports.
