The King of the Belgians visited the Hope Initiative Southern Africa Community Centre in the heart of Katutura.
The centre cares for vulnerable people.
King Philippe, who was accompanied by a delegation of, among others, |Khomas Regional Governor Laura McLeod-Katjirua, toured the centre.
Co-founded by Patricia Sola, the centre feeds and offers educational programmes to children and other vulnerable community members.
Since its inception, the centre has assisted about 8,000 children and vulnerable families through, among other things, education, helping women start small businesses, providing early childhood development services, and providing meals.
The centre also offers different programmes, such as Safety Corner, to assist gender-based violence victims.
The centre was built in 2008 with the aim of assisting vulnerable communities with the assistance of the Italian Embassy and was extended by the European Union.
