For the past 11 years, some children at Bunya Village in the Kavango West Region have been taught in a corrugated iron sheet structure.

However, that is set to change with a benefactor coming along to change their teaching environment.

This was the teaching environment at Damasius kindergarten, in Bunya village.

The founder, Benedictor Kadira, a trained pre-primary teacher, started the kindergarten eleven years ago.

Kadira used the corrugated iron sheet room as a classroom, which was at the New Apostolic Church, and she was allowed to teach in it.

The kindergarten started with 45 learners in 2013, and each learner was requested to pay N$10,00 for the procurement of teaching materials.

The aim was to educate the children in her village, as the majority were at home until they turned six years old to start Grade 1.

At the moment, there are 35 learners at the kindergarten.

At times, adverse weather conditions were a major challenge, as some days classes were suspended due to heavy rains.

And in 2023, the corrugated iron sheet classroom was destroyed by heavy rains.

Kadira appreciated the efforts of the donor.

She encouraged parents to register their children and allow her to lay a foundation and prepare them for primary school.

Donating a classroom worth more than N$77,000, Netagea was a beneficiary of the fishing quotas.

The kindergarten is still in need of assistance.

Netagea recently also donated a temporary structure for the boys and girls hostel at Mburuuru Primary School in the Kavango West Region.
