The community and learners at Elim also commemorated the Day of the African Child.

The event was addressed by the Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Modestus Amutse, at Etope Primary School.

Justina Amupolo Chief Education Officer of the Omusati Region  said, guardians, caregivers, communities, professionals, and teachers all have the responsibility to promote the safety and welfare of the Namibian children.

"The Children of Africa are facing alot of challenges like diseases, somedontgo to school fue to long distances, lack of food and hygiene, rising poverty , vulnerability, and abuse and violence those are some of the abuse african choldren go through."
