Residents of the Samora Machel Constituency say they reject the possibility of joining the John Pandeni Constituency.
They further suggest that their constituency be split in two.
The residents engaged officials of the Boundaries Delimitation and Demarcation Commission for input.
Samora Machel is a constituency with an estimated population of about 92,000, and to be designated into another constituency, they say, would deny them much-needed services.
Thus, they say it would be better for the constituency to remain as it is, or alternatively, be split into two.
The constituency consists of Wanaheda, Greenwell Matongo, and Goreangab residential areas, leading up to the informal settlements.
Residents thus suggest that the informal settlements be grouped into a separate constituency to allow for better delivery of services.
The outcome of the community engagements with constituencies within the |Khomas Region will be held on the 27th of this month.
