Swapo Party Central Committee member Veikko Nekundi called on the party members to ensure there is peace and progress in the government's efforts to address developmental challenges.

Nekundi was speaking at the party's mini rallies in Linyanti and Sibbinda districts in the Zambezi Region over the weekend.

Nekundi said there has been great improvement in terms of development in the past 34 years, disagreeing with those who are saying that the government has not done much since then.

He reiterated the government's commitment to deliver to all, claiming that the only constituencies lagging behind in development are those under the leadership of the opposition parties.

Eligible voters should therefore give Swapo the mandate to address their challenges, he said.

The party also welcomed 153 new members in the Linyanti district and 33 at Sibbinda during the rallies.
