Five men have been arrested in connection with the disappearance of 24-year-old engineering student, Matheus Sheehama at Walvis Bay.

It is alleged that Sheehama was last seen being attacked by six men before he disappeared without a trace.

According to the police report, the student was attacked at a braai held at his girlfriend's house in Kuisebmond last Saturday.

It is alleged that Sheehama was falsely accused of slapping one of the revellers, and as a result, the group of men assaulted him.

The report further states that nobody knows what happened to Sheehama after the attack.

The five people arrested in connection with the case have already appeared in the magistrate's court and were denied bail.

They are Jimmy Gaeb and Michael Awaseb, who are both 24 years of age, as well as Marvin Wapota, Romano Paulus, and Enrico Gomachab, who are all 20 years old.

Meanwhile, the community and Sheehama's family members staged a demonstration in front of the court to demand justice.

The five suspects will make a second appearance on the 22nd of August.
