The Swapo Party National Leader assigned to the ||Kharas Region, Tom Alweendo, has reminded party members that election campaign messages will determine the outcome of the November 27 national elections.
He made the remarks at the party's regional elective conference held at Keetmanshoop.
Contesting in the elections were Clemencia Coetzee, ||Kharas Governor Aletha Frederick, Magaret Waters, Francis Shamwa, John Henry Meintjies, and Simon Nambondi.
Coetzee won the female race after she garnered 24 votes. Both Frederick and Waters only scored 18 votes each.
Nambodhi came out victorious in the male race after he scored 33 votes, while Meintjies and Shaw only managed to garner 11 and 16 votes, respectively.
The regional elective conference elected two delegates to the party's Electoral College, also known as the Pot, which is slated for the first week of next month in Windhoek.
The Electoral College is set to elect candidates who will represent the party in the National Assembly after the upcoming election.
"And therefore, when we gather like this, let's remind ourselves of that message we want to take to the electorate. And the message—we need to continue to tell this message. The message has to say, Yes, the Swapo Party has been the ruling party since the independence of this country. And that only happens if we continue to be the ruling party for this long because we are doing the right thing. We are doing the right things; otherwise, we wouldn't be elected."
Alweendo furthermore says the electorate should continue to enjoy what the Swapo Party has and continues to deliver.
