Three men aged between 21 and 27 were arrested on Monday morning after they were found in possession of five suspected stolen donkeys at Uukwanandjenga village in the Tsandi Constituency of the Omusati Region.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Omusati Region, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the three were arrested after they could not account for the possession of the livestock.
“The suspects were found in possession of suspected stolen donkeys and were unable to give satisfactory accounts of such possessions,” he said.
He added that the total value of the stolen donkeys is yet to be determined.
Simaho said that the three will make their first court appearance at Okahao Magistrate's Court this week.
The police investigation into the matter continues.
