The Chairperson of the Namibian Federation of the Visually Impaired, Alfons Maketo, says the association’s goal is to have branches in all regions of the country and to make programmes accessible to persons living with disabilities. 

Maketo, a former senior reporter for the nbc, said that the increased visibility of the association would also help fight stigma and appealed for support in this regard. 

He was speaking during the fundraising gala dinner of the Namibian Federation of the Visually Impaired, underway at Parliament Gardens.
