The Swapo Party in Zambezi Region has elected Prisca Makabi and Progress Sipapela as candidates to represent the region at the electoral college.

Makabi, a member of the regional executive committee, scored 45 votes, and Sipapela, the district executive member of Linyanti district, got 37 votes.

Makabi was contesting against Christina Simanga, who received 32 votes, while Sipapela, who won on the male side, contested alongside Leonard Mwilima, who received 35 votes, while Dasilver Mabuku received five votes.

In addition, the candidates will be joined by four delegates: Lister Shamalaza, district coordinator for Katima Mulilo Urban; Elton Mowa, regional secretary for the youth league; Nsala Muhongo, district mobiliser for Katima Urban; and Dorothy Kabula, the acting regional coordinator.
 
One of the SWAPO party leaders assigned to the region, Erastus Uutoni, advised candidates and members to stand together at all times and represent their region in unity.

Uutoni also said the region should prepare itself for the manifesto, which is expected after the electoral college.
