The Erongo Regional Council, through its Constituency Development Fund, has allocated machinery and equipment valued at N$350,000 to support around 30 small entrepreneurs across various sectors in Arandis and Henties Bay.

Arandis Councillor, Benitha Imbamba, said SMEs are the backbone of the country's economy, and it is imperative to help them gradually develop into well-established elite businesses one day.

This equipment, Imbamba says, is a symbol of what they can achieve when they come together with a shared vision.

The beneficiaries are reminded that the true power of receiving the items does not lie in the equipment itself but in how they use it.

"With dedication and cooperation, we can transform this community, improve our livelihoods, and inspire the next generation. With resources received today, we are now better equipped to turn our aspirations into reality, to push the boundaries for what we thought possible, to uplift every member of our community, and to assist our family members with what we gain in our businesses."

Also speaking at the event was the Deputy Director of Regional Planning for Erongo Regional Council, Sylvester Mublila.

"The materials that we are getting today are stimulating the employment opportunities that you can offer to ourselves and to our imitated people; even beyond, if this business grows from these materials, then we will reach the objective of the movement."

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries was Frieda Ndengu, a mother of four who moved to Arandis in search of better living conditions from the northern part of the country.

Since she finished her secondary education driven by her passion, she became a tailor.

"We are not only thanking you for today's ceremony but also for what you are doing for our vulnerable community members during difficult times, where you always stood by your people as a mother should do and distributed food parcels and hygiene products to our needy and vulnerable members of our community, which indeed is a great relief in trying times."
