The electoral process has progressed smoothly, as no objections were raised against the inclusion of names on the Provisional Voters Register by the deadline of September 4, 2024.
ECN spokesperson De Wet Siluka confirmed this to nbc-news.
Consequently, the scheduled representations to the Electoral Tribunal and the anticipated rulings have become unnecessary.
The Electoral Calendar initially anticipated potential objections to be heard by the Tribunal on September 18, 2024, with rulings by the Electoral Court to follow between September 18 and 27. However, with no challenges raised, these proceedings will not take place.
The next phase in Namibia’s electoral process, the publication of the Final Voters Register, will now proceed without delays associated with disputes over the voters' roll.
Namibians will go to the polls for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on November 27, 2024.
