The Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) bid farewell to the 15th Chinese medical team and welcomed the 16th medical team.
The Chinese medical team supports Namibia's healthcare system.
During their tenure, the 15th team assisted about nineteen thousand people, visited communities, and promoted traditional Chinese medicine in schools.
The team has been instrumental in supporting the well-being of Namibians, especially in the department of acupuncture.
The incoming medical team comprises two doctors and two nurses, and its leader said they would do their best to strengthen the health sector in the country.
China's Ambassador, Zhao Weiping, stated that the medical team contributes to the growth of China-Namibia medical cooperation.
"While we find it difficult to say goodbye to the outgoing 15th Medical Team, we are certainly happy to welcome the newly arrived 16th Medical Team led by Dr. Huang Qin. I hope and believe that they will carry the torch on and continue to serve the Namibian people with superb professionalism. And they will for sure enjoy our strong support."
The Acting Executive Director of the Ministry of Health, Jeremiah Nghipundja, commended the outgoing Chinese medical team and welcomed the incoming one.
