The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has addressed its internal and external challenges to build a stronger, more resilient company.
NAMCOR, in a press release, says it has successfully taken major steps to turn around the company's performance, foster accountability, and create a culture of excellence.
The company says it has introduced a trading company turnaround plan to improve its performance and ensure long-term sustainability.
One of the steps it has taken is to implement rigorous management measures to address internal misconduct.
The company made the statement after a bruising year in which its former Managing Director, Imms Mulunga, was fired in August on charges of misconduct.
This also follows the dramatic case in which its former board chairperson, Jennifer Comalie, was charged for allegedly dealing with drugs after drugs were found in her vehicle on the NAMCOR premises minutes before a board meeting dealing with Mulunga's case was supposed to take place.
The case against Comalie was struck from the High Court roll.
The company has since announced the appointment of a new board.
