Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah met with newly accredited Venezuelan Ambassador Mgaly Henríquez González.

During the meeting, the Vice President pointed out that Namibia and Venezuela share a longstanding history of friendship, with the ruling parties of both countries sharing a vision of working for the well-being of people in both countries.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah also congratulated Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on his re-election as President of Venezuela, recalling the friendship they forged after her visit to the country in December 2022.

The Venezuelan ambassador stated that her country will continue to work to consolidate and strengthen the existing bilateral relations, underscoring the importance of establishing cooperation projects that promote scientific and technological development.

Dr. Henríquez said that all experience accumulated through social protection initiatives such as the Great Venezuela Housing Mission can and will be put at the disposal of Namibia.

In 2021, the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, awarded the Francisco de Miranda Order, first class, to Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah, found President Sam Nujoma, and former Mozambican President, Joaquim Chissano.
