Air Botswana has put on hold its recently announced Gaborone-Windhoek to Durban flight routes.
Air Connect Namibia Chairperson Bisey |Uirab says the matter is beyond their control.
Last month, Air Connect Namibia and Air Botswana announced that Air Botswana would connect Gaborone to Windhoek and continue to Durban's King Shaka International Airport in South Africa as of 1 October 2024.
Air Connect Namibia says FlySafair and South African Airways are on course to offer more connections, with FlySafair operating a twice-weekly service connecting Cape Town International Airport to Hosea Kutako International Airport.
|Uirab says the route will not only enhance access between the two countries but also provide consumers with increased choice.
The new route will operate on Tuesday and Saturday.
South African Airways is also expected to add a third daily frequency between Johannesburg and Windhoek, on the 27th of this month.
