The Acting |Khomas Police Regional Commander announced that activist Michael Amushelelo will face multiple charges following his arrest for setting tires on fire in front of the Ministry of Labour and Employment Creation earlier today (Friday).
Deputy Commissioner Chrispin Mubebo stated that Amushelelo was detained and will be charged with malicious damage to property, violating the Road Traffic and Transportation Act, and breaching fire safety regulations.
Additional charges will include abandoning objects on the road, which posed a danger to traffic, as well as engaging in behavior deemed hazardous to himself and others in a public space.
Deputy Commissioner Mubebo emphasized that Amushelelo not only endangered his own safety but also the safety of others and nearby properties.
He reiterated that the Police will not tolerate lawless behavior within the City or the country.
