14,203 local voters cast their votes at 33 polling stations across the country during the special voting held yesterday.
At Namibia's 35 diplomatic missions, 2,147 people cast their votes.
The Chairperson of ECN says they are satisfied with the turnout of the voters, despite it exceeding the expected number of 8,800 eligible voters.
Dr. Elsie Nghikembua says all eligible voters who were in line by 21:00 did vote, with the last being cast at 4:00 early morning today at the Osona polling station in the Omatako Constituency.
The first results were released at 23:50 last night from Opuwo Constituency.
She also emphasised that the ECN is still waiting for all the results from all polling stations so that they can be verified, certified, and collated by the commission for the 27th of November.
She further added that the current results circulating on social media have not gone through the commission’s verification process.
