With the extension of the Presidential and National Assembly voting process in some areas, in Windhoek, eligible voters lined up at Trans Namib, the only designated polling station in the |Khomas Region.
The polling station opened at seven this morning and will close at 21:00, and the same will happen tomorrow for people to cast their votes.
The presiding officer, Paul Kamati, has not specified how many ballot books they have received; however, he is confident that the process will run smoothly over the next two days.
"We're going to be allowing people to cast their votes till tomorrow. Depending on the outcome we would actually be going into the next day, the venue will be giving everyone a chance to vote."
Other constituencies where voting has been extended are Epupa, Opuwo Rural, Sesfontein in the Kunene Region, Okashali, Ondangwa Urban, and four constituencies in Oshakati East in the Oshana Region, as well as Nehale Lya Mpingana in the Oshikoto Region.
