Swanu Party congratulated the president-elect, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

Despite political differences, the party says it respects the electoral body's declaration of Nandi-Ndaitwah as president-elect.

"It is only fair to congratulate President Nandi-Ndaitwah for her victory and wish her well in her endeavors. We are doing this deliberately because body and politics are true in law; a person is considered innocent until proven guilty. The results have put Comrade Ndaitwah as the elected president, and we will be failing ourselves if we do not honor that. It is the decision of our people until proven otherwise by competent judicial processes."
