The outgoing Ambassador of Japan to Namibia, Nishimaki Hisao, has expressed his admiration for Namibia’s people, landscapes, and wildlife during his tenure as his country's representative in Namibia.

Hisao mentioned this during a courtesy visit to President Nangolo Mbumba to bid farewell after having served for two years and eight months in Namibia.

While he was stepping away from his current role, Hisao emphasised that he wasn't retiring from life and hoped to continue contributing meaningfully in the future.

President Nangolo Mbumba described the Japanese Embassy as one of the most effective in providing support in crucial areas like health, education, and emergency responses such as drought relief.

Dr. Mbumba said that he hoped the next ambassador would carry on this tradition of working together and encouraged Japan to support trade and help companies set up in Namibia.
