President Nangolo Mbumba returned home after a State Visit to Havana, Cuba, at the invitation of President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
Reflecting on his visit, President Mbumba emphasised the strong bond between Namibia and Cuba, describing Cuba as a second home for Namibians.
He highlighted the enduring solidarity between the two nations, which continues to grow stronger.
The President noted Cuba's unique contribution to Namibia, particularly in the field of education.
He pointed out that many Namibians have had the opportunity to study medicine in Cuba and become doctors through this partnership.
President Mbumba expressed his belief that the visit would further unite the people of Cuba and Namibia, strengthening their revolutionary brotherhood.
He also praised Cuba for its significant role in Namibia's liberation struggle and independence.
During the visit, President Mbumba was honoured with the prestigious National Order of José Martí, presented by President Díaz-Canel at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana.
