People from all walks of life, including high-ranking government officials, gathered at the Ndaitwah residence at Onheleiwa Village in the Ohangwena Region to celebrate the President-Elect's victory following the November national elections.

The event was marked with speeches and poems, all praising and wishing President-Elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah the best as the next and first female president in waiting.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah thanked Namibians for putting their trust in her.

"We have won the government; we have won the majority in the National Assembly. I can only say to all of us it was a joint effort; it was the unit that we have shown, and it was love for our country."

She says this year's elections, though peaceful, were not easy.

"When we realised that all the weapons were out from all directions to bring the Swapo Party down, we didn't sit idle and say, God help us. We also deployed strategic deployment because God helps those who help themselves."

The Vice President of Namibia commended Namibians for demonstrating unity and peace during the voting process, stating that she would need the same as the Head of State.
