A resident of Ngonga village, John Sakubenya, died in a hit-and-run today at Namushasha in the Zambezi Region.

Authorities believe a vehicle that fled the scene struck Sakubenya.

Sakubenya was found lying on the road with severe head injuries and a fractured right arm in the area of Namushasha.

In a separate incident, a passerby in Chichimani early this morning found the lifeless body of an elderly woman near a footpath.

The previous day, locals reported seeing Idah Masuku Namakwa from Tengu Village at a shebeen.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Authorities urge anyone with information on both incidents to come forward and assist the police in investigations.
