The leader of a faction of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority, Professor Mutjinde Katjiua, says the authority remains focused on promoting good leadership and community projects for economic empowerment, among other things.

Speaking at the Toasis gathering day in the Aminuis Constituency, Professor Katjiua emphasised the urgency for the traditional authority's leadership to prioritise community development over unnecessary internal conflicts.

Professor Katjiua added that given the abundant underground water in the Aminuis vicinity, local communities should come up with modern agricultural-related projects for self-sustainability and job creation.

Katjiua also applauds the government for a state-of-the-art infrastructural development setup at Toasis and the road upgrades in the constituency.

Omaheke Governor Pijoo Nganate emphasised the importance of the annual Toasis gathering day as an event that has come a long way since it was initiated by the late Ombara Hosea Kutako, who today the current government has honoured with a shrine and a memorial site.

The day was concluded with various cultural activities.
