The Namibian Police (NamPol) Force in the Omusati Region has arrested a 36-year-old man after he reportedly stabbed to death his 41-year-old cousin.

NamPol Regional Commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Ohama yaShuunda village in the Outapi Constituency.

According to Basson, it is alleged that the deceased was sleeping in the room with his co-worker when the suspect entered the room, attacked, and stabbed the deceased with an unknown sharp object all over his body. The deceased died on the scene.

“The deceased's lifeless body was found outside the room where they were sleeping, with about nine stab wounds,” he added.

He was identified as Stefanus Mwavina Pius.

Police investigation into the matter continues.
