|Uis activist Jimmy ||Areseb has been granted bail of N$2,000 by Omaruru Magistrate Asi Gariseb following his arrest on Saturday.

||Areseb was taken into custody after participating in a sit-in at the Daures Traditional Authority offices, organized by a group of concerned community members, who were demanding to meet withntheir chief, Sagaruas Seibeb.

He faced a charge of interfering with police officers in the execution of their duties.

||Areseb has been outspoken in calls for the removal of Daure Daman chief Sagarias Seibeb, whom the community has accused of being involved in several irregularities.

Part if the bail condition attached to his release is for him to stay away from the Duare's Traditional Authority office until the matter is finalized.

Magistrate Gariseb postponed the case to February 25 to allow for further police investigations.
