The high influx of people to Khorixas has put service delivery under pressure, with water provision and sewage lines no longer able to keep up with the demand.

With a population of about 11,000 residents, the Khorixas town experienced an influx of farmers in surrounding areas due to drought experienced in the area over the years.

Therefore, the current infrastructure is unable to handle the pressure, and Khorixas Town Council is working on different ways to mitigate the situation, which include water pipelines and borehole drilling.

Notable developments in the town include the shopping mall, vocational training centre, and accommodation facilities.

Khorixas is a tourist destination, and the council is inviting investors to the area.
