Namibia's former First Lady, Penexupifo Pohamba, has thanked the late Dr. Nujoma for his contribution and unparalleled leadership skills that have brought Namibia to where it is.
The former First Lady says that even though she and the rest of Namibians are saddened by his death, Namibians should be grateful that he lived until 95 years, leading Namibia towards prosperity.
She says the late Nujoma spent most of his young life making sacrifices to attain Namibia's independence alongside other veterans of the liberation struggle, noting that his legacy should be honoured to ensure Namibia develops for the benefit of all Namibians.
"As I reflect, I just want to thank the late for the good deeds he has done for us and his sacrifices for all of us. Among some of the legacies that should be kept alive is ensuring that education is prioritised so that they can see how to build and maintain the country further."
Pohamba says his leadership led to freedom, and his driving force encouraged people to go into exile and liberate the motherland, which was laudable.
"We acknowledge and thank him for his good deeds, and he completed his tasks on earth like the true comrade that he was. We shall forever be indebted to him for his exemplary leadership, strength, resilience, and humanity."
