The legal fraternity joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the life and legacy of the late Founding President, Dr. Sam Nujoma, at NG Kerk in the capital.

As speakers paid tribute, they highlighted Nujoma's pivotal role in shaping Namibia into a strong and independent nation, urging citizens to follow in his footsteps.

Described as a symbol of hope, unity and peace, the late president was remembered for paving the way for the country's independence.

Speaking on behalf of the Attorney General, the Chief Legal Adviser in the Office of the Attorney General, Chris Nghaamaa, honoured Nujoma as a true embodiment of selflessness and a leader who served fearlessly in the pursuit of justice.

Nujoma was also recognised for his dedication to national development, particularly in encouraging private sector investment in agriculture. Under his leadership, Namibia was classified as an upper-middle-income country.

Delivering the keynote address, the Minister of Justice, Yvonne Dausab, described Nujoma's passing as a moment of deep reflection.

She emphasised that, even in death, he reminds Namibians of the progress achieved, while also highlighting the work that remains to be done in building a prosperous nation.

Dausab further urged Namibians to continue dreaming and striving for progress, ensuring that the country moves forward and lives up to its full potential.
