The City of Windhoek, in a council meeting, assessed the effectiveness of the projects it implemented in the 2024/2025 financial year, which are to be continued throughout the next financial year.

They also discussed various items on their agenda set to take place this year.

Among the projects launched were the relocation of flood victims to farm 508, the construction of a sanitation hub at the Mix settlement, and the installation of new communal taps in the Khomasdal and Samora Machel constituencies.

The meeting was attended by all departments to provide the mayor's office with a holistic understanding of the city's operational landscape, ensuring informed decision-making and strategy planning.

One of the actions set to take place is the launch of public consultations on the Windhoek Urban Structure Plan with the goal of providing a comprehensive strategic direction for land use, urban development, and infrastructure planning.

The City will also be donating redundant vehicles, plants, and equipment to sister local authorities, which is in line with the City of Windhoek's broader goals of regional development, cooperation, and sustainability.

The Mayor emphasised that the City of Windhoek will remain true to its mandate, improving the quality of life for all residents through delivering efficient and effective municipal services.
