The Indian High Commission in Namibia is inviting Namibian girls to apply for the ShakthiSAT project, which is aimed at empowering girls to partake in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The mission will provide an opportunity for 108 female Namibian students to participate in a satellite launch to the lunar orbit.

India's High Commissioner to Namibia, Rahul Shrivastava, announced this at the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme celebration, attended by alumni of the programme.

The ShakthiSAT programme is designed to provide them with hands-on training in satellite design, coding, and space technology.

The girls will undergo an intensive 120-hour online training programme covering subjects such as physics, orbital mechanics, programming, satellites, and payload design.

The best student will be selected to go to India and explore more opportunities in STEM.

The link for applying is available on the website of the Indian High Commission in Namibia.
