Namibia's Honorary Consul to Hong Kong, Henry Chan, paid his respect to the late Founding President Sam Nujoma and the late Third President Hage Geingob by laying wreaths at their graves at Heroes Acre.
Chan described Namibia as his second home, having been appointed as Namibia's Honorary Consul to Hong Kong in 1993, and said he developed a personal relationship with both the late Nujoma and Geingob over the years.
The President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, also paid his respects to the two fallen heroes of Namibia.
Namibia and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic share diplomatic relations rooted in their quests for freedom and independence, with the late Dr. Geingob vowing to continue diplomatic engagements with the people of Sahrawi while reaffirming Namibia's solidarity with the country during President Ghali's visit to Namibia in 2018.
