Family, friends, community members, and Swapo Party supporters organized a surprise party for the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Mines, Energy and Industry, Gaudentia Krohne, upon her return to her hometown.

Deputy Minister Krohne, visibly moved by the warm reception at the Keetmanshoop Police Block, expressed her gratitude to the residents for their support.

The celebration included a parade through the streets, culminating at the Swapo Party office.

"You are taking on a challenging role in this ministry. It won't be easy, but remember what the president said: 'We are here to work and serve the nation.'"

"We thank both God and the president for choosing you. We pray that God keeps you mindful of your roots. There were many candidates—perhaps 60 or 80—but the president saw fit to appoint you to this important position. As party members and Namibians, we often lament that this region is rich yet filled with poverty. We entrust you with the responsibility to address these issues."

The Deputy Minister expressed her appreciation for the trust that President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has placed in her.

"I want to emphasize that commitment, dedication, and hard work are essential in life. It is important to respect everyone—regardless of age, wealth, color, or tribe. Treat others as you wish to be treated; that is my guiding principle. This is not just a facade; it is a belief I intend to uphold throughout my life."
