The Ministry of Health and Social Services has received a donation of much-needed medical equipment for the Katima Mulilo District Hospital.
The items will support the hospital's orthopaedics, orthotics, and physiotherapy department, helping to improve care for patients who need physical rehabilitation or support for bone and muscle conditions.
The hospital staff members and the health director, Woita Kapumburu, received the donation, stating that it will help address the lack of support towards the department.
The equipment was donated by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency.
Its project manager, Elsie Mabuku, reaffirmed the agency's readiness to work hand in hand with hospitals and the government across their focus areas.
The acting chief medical officer at the hospital, Douglas Musweu, noted that efforts to acquire the donated equipment have always been a lengthy process.
He called on other organisations and businesses to support the hospital and ministry as a whole to meet the demands and needs of patients.
