Survivors of the 1978 Cassinga Massacre laid wreaths at the graves of heroes and heroines buried at the Heroes' Acre this morning.
As the group remembers those who fought for peace, they are joined by the Cuban brothers and sisters in honouring their heroes.
Cuba was one of the countries that assisted in the liberation of the country, rescuing Namibians during the liberation struggle. In addition, the country continued assisting Namibia after independence.
In a specific song filled with emotions, they honoured the heroes, indicating that they served and sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom.
