The Hai||om community in the Kunene Region has adopted resolutions that they want to be included in all government development programmes.

The resolution was adopted following a five-day Hai||om San unity conference at Outjo over the weekend.

The purpose of the inaugural conference was to assess the challenges and accomplishments of the Hai||om Affairs Parliament. 

They deliberated on and resolved to push for inclusion in all government development programmes and land distribution, among others.

"These are resolutions we are going to own ourselves to see how we can be part of the vision of the Government of Namibia. We have decided to walk and talk with the Namibian government by providing and contributing our needs and shortcomings as well as our success factors," said the Secretary to the Hai||om Affairs Parliament, Stefanus Haneb.

Haneb said the community is ready to work and implement the Swapo Party manifesto.

"We would like to congratulate our newly elected President, Her Excellency Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and we pledge at this occasion as the Hai//om San are prepared and pledge to be part of the implementation process of the Swapo Party Manifesto and hence the issue of the outcome of this historical event to be witnessed by the Republic of Namibia."

The Hai||om Affairs Parliament was established in 2024 to look into the plights and betterments of over 10,000 San community members in Namibia.
