President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on young people to actively engage in global issues and defend multilateralism, which she warned is under increasing threat.
In her remarks during the official opening of the 21st General Assembly of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), President Nandi-Ndaitwah urged the Assembly to focus its discussions on pressing global challenges and to pass resolutions that uphold justice, inclusivity, unity, and equality, ensuring that no nation is oppressed or marginalised.
She also condemned the lingering imperialist effects of colonialism and encouraged young people to stand united against ongoing injustices worldwide.
Reminding attendees of the historical relationship between WFDY and the Swapo Party Youth League during Namibia’s liberation struggle, President Nandi-Ndaitwah called on young people to carry forward the spirit of the anti-imperialist revolution and to foster unity among progressive forces.
